My students need 30 Bouncy Bands to help them release built up energy while they work at their desk. It is critical for children to move frequently in order to learn.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I want my students to be accomplished readers, literacy is a big push at our school. Our kids struggle with this for many reasons. Most parents are illiterate so they do not have much support at home. I want them to be successful readers so they can be successful in life.
Our students are amazing!
They are the most generous children I have ever met. Our school population is 99% poverty with 100% free breakfast and lunch. Most of our children do not have much. Most of our children live on multiple family homes as well as homeless shelters. However, when it was time for our penny drive for the homeless shelter, our students raised over $200! This speaks volumes about the character of our students and their families. The majority of our school is almost ELL with many parents not speaking English. This can make learning difficult for our students since they are not able to receive academic reinforcement at home.
My Project
My students will be able to use the Bouncy Bands every single day! Being able to wiggle without distracting others will increase the knowledge they retain. It will allow students to focus better in class and it will calm children who suffer from anxiety. These bands will connect directly to students desks and will be something they can use everyday. Throughout the school day, children spend a great amount of time in their seats working. This can be bothersome to kids who need to expel energy. They often distract not only themselves but others around them; these bands will eliminate that problem!
This project will make a difference in the education of my students.
All students have different struggles in the classroom and the Bouncy Bands can help! Our students do not come from much so having these bands awarded to them will boost their confidence and get them excited about learning! Receiving donations to this project will improve the functionality of my classroom, not only for myself but also for the students. These donations will help keep students on task.
