My students need twelve copies of each of the books in our reading program including National Geographic Readers, Super Storms, Owls, and Tumbleweed Stew.

My First Graders are eager to read, read, read!
We are a classroom of many different backgrounds, cultures, and languages who come together to read, write, learn, discuss, and enjoy learning. Reading is the key to success no matter where you come from or where you are going.
My Project
Our district recently purchased the Lucy Calkins Units of Study for Reading. The program comes with only one copy of each of the titles. Multiple copies will enable us to engage more students. In smaller groups, each students can have their own book. In larger groups, the students can work with a partner. I also plan to send the books home with students to read with and to their families. In this way we are connecting even more students and families to a love of reading.
There's nothing better than the feel of a book in your hands.
With more copies of the titles, we can get a book into almost everyone's hands. We want our students to become lifelong readers, lifelong leaders, and lifelong lovers of learning. Readers are leaders and leaders are readers.
