My students need 3 iPad minis to engage in individualized learning experiences online and learn important 21st century skills to be successful with mathematics.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students

My goal is to position my students to attain their dreams. When a dream is not focused on or kept in the forefront of one's mind it cannot be attained and the potential is not tapped into.
The students that I will be working with represent various communities, each of which have the same goal to be someone great.
My observation of the students has been one of promise and potential that is not always seen based on what has been afforded to them. As a teacher my eyes allow me to see beyond ones physical circumstances but to engage them in a more mentally rigorous environment to position them for their best.
The school is a turn around school, where scores and metrics are on the incline but there is still work that must be done. The teachers of the school bring the positive light to the community and instill the glimmer of hope needed for them to accomplish who they want to be.
My Project
I am requesting 3 iPad minis for our classroom. The materials that are being provided will enhance the individual learning environment within the classroom. My goal is to provide an inclusive learning community where my students can grow as large as their brains will allow. The programs utilized by the students will be LearnZillion: to re-teach materials, and to allow students to progress forward to more complex materials in addition to engaging games that provide an educational message while promoting an engaging program.
In carrying on the legacy of my late mother, and the drive and determination she had for me to be successful; I have made a vow to do the same for my students.
The donations for this project will allow my students to have an individualized learning experience that they will remember for years to come. The early years of education provide a foundation for students to build upon and I would like to ensure this is true for years to come as I impact students, families and communities.
