In just a few short weeks, 29 first graders with be back in the classroom with excitement to learn. They will be scared, nervous, excited, and minds open to a whole new way to learn.
My students come from all walks of life.
About half are English Language Learners (ELL) and half are native English speakers, but we are learning in both languages in a Dual Language program. The majority of our day in first grade is in Spanish, therefore, resources are lacking. I have some wonderful resources, for example a song book, ready to print, but we need ink and paper. The students will be making books, solving math problems, working on homework, as well as many other educational opportunities. The students are only 6 years old, but they can learn so much, so fast.
My Project
We will use the ink, paper, and dry erase markers to make education come alive. The students will be able to have color pictures, writing paper, math problems, and homework problems, using these resources. They will also each have a music and poems book to practice reading, comprehension, and fluency.
The students will use these resources each and every day.
They may not notice, but it will certain help them to learn. Do you know what is Black And White And Read All Over? You are right - anything they can print and read. Thank you for your incredible help in funding this project.
