This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember learning how to type on a computer for the first time? How did you learn to research various topics? My students have limited resources when it comes to technology, and are very enthusiastic about gaining experience using various types of technology.

My third grade students attend a school where the free and reduced lunch rate is 96%.

They come from homes where the parents have very little education or minimal English, and often work for the factories within our community. Most of my students have no kind of technology at home and look forward to being able to use a computer at school each day. While each of my students brings a different story to school, they all share a love for learning and school!

My Project

By assisting to provide one additional netbook within my classroom, students will be able to gain more experience and knowledge using a computer independently. The use of a netbook will allow students to practice keyboarding, research skills, and acquire skills in which an individual needs in today's society for any career. Technology is an ever growing field, and all children need exposure to it!

By adding a netbook to the current technology within our classroom, students will gain more experience with the ever growing technology universe.

Students will gain the necessary technology skills to assist in their growing education, life skills, and required career skills for their future.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
