My Students
My students love to read. They have read through the classroom library and it's only November. We need new books.
I teach a fun loving group of first graders. We are a blend of really bright first graders and several high functioning children on the autism spectrum. They all love to share books and read. I really need to keep it going all year. We have several empty book baskets that are lonely for books.
My Project
New books would be fantastic for all of us! I plan to use the books to increase reading stamina. I hope to develop interest in science and mathematics. We love the "Pete the Cat" series by James Dean. He helps us not to worry about things. We want to make book clubs and literacy circles.
My students mean the world to me. I want them to be as excited about reading as I am when I get a new book. Many of the books will support and develop the new Common Core Curriculum.
