Goals matter.
The kids on this baseball team matter. Help our baseball program meet our goals by providing them with the proper equipment to practice on.
Coaching at the high school level is exciting, rewarding, and challenging. It is exciting and rewarding to work with these kids three hours a day throughout the year. The students on the team are extremely dedicated and motivated students that continue to strive to reach their goals. 61% are maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or above. They also adhere to the coach's strict rules of staying clear of the party scene. They are role models for the school and the community.
Coaching can be extremely challenging during these economic times because of our reduced resources. I truly believe that our limited budget should not limit these kids of their potential to be successful in what goal they choose to pursue.
My Project
The team needs proper equipment during practice. As of now, we don't have a baseball field at our campus. We practice at the park which is at least 5 miles from our campus. The field that we are currently practicing on is about to be demolished. The team deserves to have quality equipment that is safe while they are practicing skills needed to play baseball. Mats will be used on a daily basis during batting and pitching practice. With these mats, kids will no longer have to dig their feet in to prevent slipping and create holes that are a danger to other players.
Some kids are on the team because they have big dreams of playing professional baseball.
For most kids, they are on the team to be part of a team, gain self-confidence through sports, or to have a positive experience in their life. I want to give them an opportunity to fulfill their goals. The All American game of baseball has the power to change lives.
