My students need basic supplies for work in Interactive Notebooks in Math class. I am asking for colored pencils, tape & dispensers, scissors, rulers and protractors.
Ben Franklin said, "An investment in knowledge pays the best interest." Investing in the knowledge of some great students is exactly what you would be doing with a donation to this project.
My students are a group of highly motivated math learners.
They thoroughly enjoy experiencing math in new and engaging ways. In our math class, we use Interactive Notebooks to increase the engagement of the students.
Our school is located in an urban area of Wisconsin with a very diverse population of students. Twenty percent of my students are English Language Learners and seventeen percent receive special education services. Within our diverse community is a population of students who come from poverty and do not have access to computers or other technology at home. As such, it is imperative that we provide these students with opportunities to have these experiences at school.
My Project
The materials in this project are the basic needs of my students for their Math Interactive Notebooks. Interactive Notebooks are meant to engage students in their learning and to create a sense of ownership over their education. Everything we do in Math class is in the notebook, so tape, rulers, colored pencils, and scissors are all necessary in creating well-organized, engaging and knowledge infused keepsakes for the students.
Because our school has a high poverty rate, many of my students don't have the supplies that they need in order to make success more attainable for them.
By donating these supplies, the students will be able to focus on the content rather than the supplies.
