My Students

My classroom is a hands-on experience for the students; we are always building and testing projects to find that perfect solution. I would hope by the end of the class, my students will be able to understand the relationship between electronics and computer programming, two very important subjects.

My students come from a middle class town where education is valued.

They score very well on the state standardized test and around 90% attend college. My school is a great place to be a student; we have very little disciple problems and the students are very tolerant of each other.

My Project

I am requesting 10 Arduino Uno Ultimate Starter kits to learn hands-on skills that will equate to job opportunities in the future. My students will use the Arduino boards to learn how a circuit board works as well as the many applications it has. They will also learn how computer programming and circuit boards work together to produce the products we use everyday. After my students learn the basics, they will be asked to create their own inventions or ideas that they think will be a help to someone. Arduino boards teach students how to think through a project from start to finish; they also provide a skill that can be used in the workforce.

My town, because we are middle class, gets very little aid from the state for education.

This means that the people have to support 97% of the school budget. There is not a lot of money to do extra projects or initial investment like buying the Ardiuno boards. My students would benefit greatly from a project like this because they value the educational experience and are capable of understanding the subject.
