Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The W.H.E.S. Music Program is in need of iPads for our Listening Station that will be directly located in the Music Room. With new technology hard to come by, my students would have more opportunities to learn and grow musically through immersion in every genre of music.

My students come from very low-income areas, and many of them don't have the privilege of using the type of technology that I am currently trying to acquire for our Music Room.

Artistic, intelligent and talented are just a few of the words I would use to describe my learners. They are amazing individuals who deserve a chance to grow musically through technology.

My Project

I am requesting 4 iPads and 4 cases for the Listening Station. The iPads would be used in our Listening Station located in the back portion of the Music Room. Learners would get opportunities to listen to all different types of music not only based on genre, but through different periods as well. There are also countless music education apps that could applied through the course as well.

My students would benefit greatly from this donation because at home, they don't get access to these types of great technology.

The Listening Station would give my students a chance to experience musical cultures from all over the world. Music changes lives, and I am hoping that these iPads will be a simple stepping stone in the development of these young students' lives.
