This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

If Gandhi told us to "Be the change you want to see," then my students can also film and show others the change they want to see. This is their chance to take back their own space by creating their own stories and sharing them with a world that constantly inundates them with preconceived messages.

This is a BONUS Project Proposal for our Film Project.

We have all the necessary parts for our lab funded and are requesting funds for a second Unit A camera for potential enriching multi-angle footage. The following text is taken from Part 1: The students in the New Media and Film and Video Production classes range from the well versed to the "what's-a-camera?" rookies. They all have a thirst to tell their own stories with their own moving images and music. They have traditionally lacked the funds and capacity to purchase the proper equipment to do so.

My Project

Again, this is a BONUS Project Proposal for our Film Project. We have pretty much finished building our own Video Production Laboratory thanks to DonorsChoose! It has been a daunting task, especially in light of our current economic state. Equipment such as a second professional Canon camera would allow our students to truly rise to the challenge of producing class-A video!

The following text is taken from Part 1: As the Film Production class has been tasked with creating our school's first ever "Video Yearbook," professional grade and supplemental equipment will allow for a whole new level of training, insight, purpose, projects and end product otherwise out of reach for our students. With additional pro-grade equipment, the students will also be able to create commercials, variety shows, short films, and more!
