As a teacher whose Pre K students love technology tools and interactive apps, I know having an iPad and case would be beneficial in my classroom. Students today are tech savvy in a way like never before. Devices have students ready for technology lessons upon entering school.
I have been a Pre K teacher for a few years now.
I teach at a Pre K-5th grade feeder school. Parental support is a positive factor in town. Our local school has around 550 students. I currently teach Pre K. students who are eager to learn and work in centers every day. Our school is one in the district that focuses on technology integration with the students daily.
My Project
As a Pre K educator, I see how students enter school on a new level in terms of technology. They embrace it faster than ever before. I know with the use of an iPad and the hundreds of apps available for Preschoolers, I could use the iPad not only in centers, but as a whole class as well. Our school iPad webpage has apps for colors, math, letters, phonics and more. Many of those are free and I plan to use those with my students. Obviously, we live in a society that embraces new technologies daily. I know combining technology resources for our students would be productive. My plan would be to connect the iPad with my interactive whiteboard and projector to offer meaningful lessons to my Pre K students.
With technology money currently not available at this time for classroom iPads, my students and I would be appreciative of any help that would bring an iPad or tablet to our classroom.
