My Students

"If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow." - John Dewey--- Technology is a powerful learning tool for elementary students! My students deserve access to the latest technology to boost their learning and prepare them for their future!

Everyday I have the responsibility and privilege to teach 26 third grade students.

They start the school year with a strong desire and excitement to learn everything they can. My students are actively engaged when I can incorporate technology into our daily lessons.

My Project

Our county has adopted the "Wonders" reading program from McGraw-Hill. This new reading program is aligned with the new Common Core standards to help prepare students to become college and career ready. Our new reading program provides lots of great supplemental material via their website. Students can watch videos to build background knowledge, reading nonfiction books to extend their learning, and play online games to practice various reading skills. However, students need access to technology to benefit from these great learning tools. The technology in our classroom is very limited. A classroom iPad will allow students an additional opportunity to access these beneficial resources.

A classroom iPad will increase the amount of time that students can engage in online learning activities.

Students will have to opportunity to build background knowledge, extend their learning, and reinforce grade level reading skills.
