With powerful technology resources at our fingertips now, teachers can enhance lessons more now than ever before. However lack of funding obviously poses an issue at times. Without a doubt, I know with an ActivSlate, I could incorporate more technology rich lessons with my students.
I am a 4th grade team teacher at a Pre K-fifth grade school.
Our town is known to be a close knit community with a lot of parental support. Our feeder school has more than 500 students. As a school, we have worked very hard to move forward with technology school campaigns. As a school community, the realization of how important technology is in schools is evident. Our leaders and teachers are always working to move forward to gain technology resources.
My Project
In the past two years, our school has been fortunate enough to receive Promethean Boards. As of yet, however, we have not received additional funding for accessories. Two goals for our classroom would be receiving an ActivSlate 60 tablet and student camera to seamlessly integrate lessons with ActivInspire on our interactive whiteboard. The ActivSlate would work with my Promethean Board to create and provide powerful interactive lessons. Of course, the biggest asset would lie with more freedom in movement in carrying the interactive tablet to the students. We would use it in centers, as well as whole class activities.
More often than not, additional money is not available for the extra technology accessories and tools.
