Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

School resources are scarce, especially with budget cuts in NYC. I would like to provide my students with technology that will help them explore and learn. Students try new skills with little risk of criticism and failure. It also brings students together and helps them build community.

My students are an energetic, respectful and intuitive group of young adults.

They attend a local, urban public school in the New York City area. Most of them walk to school and others use public transportation. A large group of them come from low to middle income families where technology is often not at home. An iPad will enable them to be introduced or further be knowledgeable with technology. In today's world, technology is a must.

My Project

The iPad will also allow us to read online stories together as we do research. The iPad will be used in small groups, one-to-one, and in whole class activities. The possibilities are endless! In a middle school, an iPad will help my students strengthen their endless possibilities in technology and allow them to be quite advanced when they get to high school.

These donations will allow the purchase of the iPad to happen and will be a gift that will keep giving to other students for years to come.

All will benefit from this iPad. This iPad will also be used with my smart board which will even further strengthen our "techies." This iPad will allow for differentiation and hours of fun learning.
