"Tremendous things are in store for you! Many wonderful surprises await you!" -- Willie Wonka. My curious gifted students love to create, connect, communicate, research, discover, investigate, and, well, learn!
I teach 95 gifted children in grades 3 through 6 in two rural schools in Alabama.
My students love to learn and need the latest technology to help them. Presently, we have only one computer in my classrooms, a laptop that is used for everything. At one school, we have a lab of very old desktops that are so slow that their time in class is up before they can get through one search. I would love to create an iPad Mini lab for my students to use. We have received our six iPad Minis from two grants from DonorChoose and are awaiting two more from our latest project. This project is to continue until we have enough for one-to-one use.
My Project
With iPad minis in the classroom, the students can do it all - create, connect, communicate, research, discover, and investigate. It is important that they have the best equipment available so they can compete with others across the country. I want them to be the creators of new content on the Internet by learning how to code. I would like for them to be able to share their ideas and learning by creating their own webpage.
iPad Minis would allow my students to be able to expand their knowledge and will give my students affordable access to the inspiration, excitement and learning that comes from participating in research and creating.
I want my students to be prepared for their future and utilize the iPad Mini to get them there.
