At the end of the school year, my biggest goal is to get my students to love school, and envision themselves going to college. The biggest challenge in getting my students there is their surroundings. The negative aspects of their life often rule, and it is my job to help them look past it.
My students are a group of 33 loving children, who come from a wide range of backgrounds, making our classroom amazingly diverse.
In my classroom alone, we have 7 different languages, and even more ethnicity. Our school is a supportive, safe place for our students and families to go, making it a loving and enjoyable place.
My Project
My students will be using all of the materials daily. The composition notebooks will be used to complete an interactive math notebook, which involves using it daily during every math lesson. The Steno notebooks will be used by my ELD class to take notes on our weekly lesson, as well as complete science and social studies lessons during the week. Last but not least, my students will be using dry erase markers throughout each day in most subjects, along with a personal whiteboard.
Donations to this project will improve my classroom because it will give us materials for an entire school year.
It will enable my students to be more hands-on in math, learn how to effectively take notes, and access to dry erase markers, which they will use daily. This will change my students' lives for the better because it will enable me to carry out lessons in a more effective way, which will enhance their learning.
