Bob Feller said that, "Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday's success or put its failures behind and start over again. That's the way life is, with a new game every day, and that's the way baseball is." Being on the baseball team, my students realize that it is okay to make mistakes.
I teach High School (9th-12th) physical education.
I am also the head coach for the baseball team. Due to budget cuts, we have very limited resources, and we are asking you to help replenish them. Limited resources shouldn't limit the potential of my students. Baseball is a popular sport at our school, and we don't even have a school baseball field. These dedicated students practice after school hours at the local park. They are extremely hard workers and come to practice 2 hours before school and 2-3 hours after school. These kids also practice during their summer vacation. In the summer, they also play 2-3 baseball games in a day. They all strive to work hard to reach their goals, stay in physical shape, and are involved in a team that provides them positive experiences. There is also no tolerance for students that are involved in the "party scene" and good grades are mandatory.
My Project
Baseballs are highly needed for baseball practice. The students on the team work on several skills in order to be able to play in a baseball game. The balls will be used for warm up drills, individual and team hitting drills, base running and situational drills, team defense and position-specific defensive drills.
The All American game of baseball has the power to change lives.
I hope with your generous donation we can help to continue changing the lives of many more students. Some kids are on the team because they have big dreams of playing professional baseball. For most kids, they are on the team to be part of a team, gain self-confidence through sports, or to have a positive experience in their life. I want to give them an opportunity to fulfill their goals.
