My Students

My students are struggling readers, and they need to discover the magic of reading! Audiobooks can bring reading to life and let them hear and practice what fluent reading should sound like.

My class is a sweet group of dedicated students.

They have gone through many hardships- some have faced the deaths of close loved ones and divorce has impacted their life at an early age. Half of my class receives reduced lunch; we live in Tennessee.

My Project

My students are in first grade, a critical year for learning to read. They need to hear fluent reading modeled for them through audiobooks. You can help bring reading to life in our class through donating engaging audiobooks! They love listening to stories.

Literacy is one of the biggest challenges facing education today.

Many children do not get the exposure to books that they need outside of school. In the classroom, I work with small strategy groups. The other students need to be engaged in meaningful tasks like listening to books and reading along!
