My students live in a low-income area in Florida. Many of my students also have a limited vocabulary because they have just moved from Haiti, so Haitian-Creole is their first language. They are all extremely bright and enthusiastic to learn. They are a joy to have in my classroom! In addition to learning a new language, they also face obstacles most adults never experience. For many of them, school is the only stable part of their lives. Seeing them grow throughout the year has been an enjoyable experience that I will cherish forever.
