Most of my students do not enjoy math, but they do enjoy coming to class as I try to build relationships with the students and encourage them. My students have very bright ideas and new and creative ways of thinking about problems. They love to work together and share their thoughts with one another. The school is very diverse as are my students. Many of my students receive their only meals for the day while they are at school. I am amazed that many of them are able to focus the way they do given the circumstances they live with at home. Despite the struggles, my students come to class ready to learn and many strive to do their best so that they may have the opportunity to go to college.
