Imagine someone you care about is living without hands, but you are expected to grade them on how fast they write. You would have patience for this person because you can see he/she is disabled. What if you cannot see the disability? What if important brain signals are not firing correctly causing emotional disturbances? These are the students I teach everyday. It is especially important to realize that these students , not just students in privately funded schools, should have the resources to run a quality music program where children can thrive and go beyond what a standardize score indicates. My program strives to bringing music literacy, an untested form of literacy, to the forefront of education as a method of helping non-music areas of learning. Unfortunately, my school lacks the budget to provide the resources necessary to make this goal a reality so I am hoping Donor's Choose and YOU can help!!!
