Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Every year we find the students in our classes are being more and more unorganized. I started putting together notebooks for my students to use as their take-home notebooks and to help keep everything together. We call these notebooks their STAR notebooks - "Students taking all responsibility" for getting their homework signed, homework returned, and keeping all their paperwork together. Along with the notebook, I purchase zip pockets for their lunch money, dividers for them to separate the different subject areas and sheet protectors for resource sheets. The students love these binders and become very protective of them. Not only does it help to keep the student organized in a busy world but it also teaches the student life-long skills for organization. I teach 2nd grade at a low income school and a lot of my students do not bring the required supplies on our supply list. I have used these notebooks the last two years and I have purchased the notebooks and the supplies within out of my own pocket. I would love help with providing these notebooks to my students this year. I usually have 22 - 23 students in my class each year with the allowance of students moving and new students moving in.
