Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach in a school that has 650 students. We have 69% free and reduced lunches with a high population of E.S.L. students. Our school has made "Character Education" a top priority for our students. We teach our children character traits and all of our students and staff exibihit these traits. Our children are still struggling with treating people with respect and more emphasis has been put on "Not Being A Bully". I want to add more books and materials to my curriculum to help teach this concept. Many of our children are from single parent homes or spend much time by themselves. They have not had the basic concepts taught on treating people as you would like to be treated. I know academics are greatly improved in an environment of respect and mutual acceptance. I want their class room to be a place where they find comfort and know they will not be bullied. I appreciate any supplies that you could help purchase for our classroom. Budget cuts have made it very hard to buy additional items. Thank you very much.
