Each day, I have the incredible opportunity to collaborate with 103 high school students who consistently surprise, impress and challenge me as a teacher. My students (approximately 95% African-American, 5% Hispanic) come to school each day dealing with so much more than just schoolwork--its these other challenges that I have to consider daily as I prepare lessons and projects. How can I engage and inspire rather than just "give them another worksheet"?
