What are some classroom photo Dos and Don’ts at DonorsChoose.org?

Your photo will accompany all of your projects on DonorsChoose.org, so it should capture the spirit of your classroom rather than focus on one specific project. Landscape-style pictures (i.e. a rectangle of greater width than height) work best with the layout of our page.

Dos:

  • Feature a clear, well-lit, cheerful group scene - either posed or taken while students are at work.
  • If you are hesitant to include students’ faces, use an image of student artwork or the physical space of your classroom, such as a reading corner.

Don'ts:

  • Do not use photos with school and/or student identification (such as jerseys, banners, etc.).
  • Do not use a logo or a clipart for which you do not have copyright.
  • Avoid close-ups of individual students.
