What does "waiting for check" mean?
When your project status says "waiting for check," this means that a donor has committed to sending in a paper check to the DonorsChoose.org office to partially or fully fund your project.
If the check will fully fund your project:
When we receive the check, we will move forward with the process. If the check is not received in our office within 30 days, we will re-post your project (extending your expiration date to incorporate the 30 days your project was not available for donations on the site) so that other prospective donors can fund it!
If the check will partially fund your project:
When we receive the check, your project will remain on our site so that other donors can complete its funding. If the check is not received in our office within 30 days, your project will remain posted on our website (for the full remaining cost) for other prospective donors to fund!
