Why is my project price tag a little more than the materials themselves?
When a student project is screened, volunteers check to make sure that materials are priced correctly and then add:
1. The cost of shipping (usually 10% of the cost of the materials), sales tax, the cost of processing the donor Thank-You Package ($9), and the surcharge assessed by the credit card processor (2%).
2. An optional fulfillment fee of 18% of the project's price tag. Please see How it Works for more details.
