Teacher FAQs

What kinds of resources may be requested?

At DonorsChoose.org you may ask for any resource that will help students learn. DonorsChoose.org has facilitated gifts of paper, books, field trips, computers, listening centers, bookshelves and more! The only criteria are:

1. All requested resources must be used by students or directly provide a student experience.

2. The project cannot foster discrimination or proselytize a religious or political viewpoint.

3. The request must be appropriate to your school. (i.e., if your school can only service PC computers, you should request that type.) Keep in mind that the materials will be delivered to your school building, not to your classroom. It will be your responsibility to arrange for the materials to be moved to their final location.

4. All requests for materials must be made using vendors enabled in the eSchoolMall system(unless you have 6 points and wish to spend them on a Special Request project).

5. While teachers who are also coaches at their schools may request materials/funding, teachers who do activities outside their schools may not submit projects for funding for outside activities that are not affiliated with the school (i.e. community/recreation centers).

Costs of labor, capital improvements to the school or grounds, vehicle purchases, or royalty/rental fees may not be requested through DonorsChoose.org.
