What roles do my principal, colleagues, and school play in my experience with DonorsChoose.org?
We encourage all DonorsChoose.org teachers to create an open line of communication with their principal and colleagues.
Before submitting a project, it is important that you discuss with your administrators the types of materials that are appropriate for your school and approved by your district (if your school can only service a special type of PC computers, you should request that type).
After your proposal is fully funded, an email/fax will be sent to a random selection of DonorsChoose.org registered teachers from your school and to your principal. This email helps to notify your colleagues about your funded proposal, verifies that your materials will be shipped to your school, and congratulates you on your great work!
We encourage DonorsChoose.org teachers to introduce DonorsChoose.org to other teachers within their school and aid new teachers in the registration process. However, it is important to remember that each teacher is responsible for his/her account, communicating with DonorsChoose.org, and submitting feedback for projects within his/her own account. Projects, accounts, points, or funding cannot be transferred from one teacher to another.
