Which kind of account should I choose?

To create an account that will enable you to make donations, track your tax-deductible contribution(s) to classrooms in need, and create gift registries and Giving Pages, pick "I am here to support classrooms in need."

If you're a full time public school teacher who is eligible to propose a student project, pick "I am a public school teacher." A teacher account will enable you to seek funding for student materials or experiences, as well as make donations and create gift registries.

Who is eligible to propose a student project?

DonorsChoose invites "front-line educators" at the public schools in our operating regions to identify the needs of the students they serve. Such front-line educators include teachers, librarians, guidance counselors, and coaches.

We are not able to accept proposals from administrators, PTA members or staff developers. We also cannot accept a proposal written by one teacher on behalf of another teacher.
