Formed in late 2005, Catawba County Champions of Education seeks to be a primary catalyst and resource partner to transform educational achievement for all Catawba County citizens, enabling those citizens to live and work successfully in the 21st century. The Areas of Emphasis of Champions of Education: 1. Increasing the number of high school graduates ready for jobs or continued education 2. Increasing parent and family support for children and schools 3. Increasing the achievement of elementary children to build for future success in school 4. Recruiting and retaining the best teachers in the country for our students 5. Informing and advocating for higher educational achievement in Catawba County We hope you will take a look at these teacher projects from our school systems in Catawba County and give them your support!

"I gave to this project because I received an inexpensive microscope as a christmas gift when I was in grade school. That microscope helped to spark my interest in science. I now have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. I hope that this new microscope will help spark another childs interest in science."
