"I consider myself lucky; my high school (a traditional, grades 9 - 12 high school situated immediately off of an air force base in a rural area of northern California, near San Francisco) has an incredibly supportive and energetic staff, administration, and principal. However, this school is also extremely old and has not been able to update its facilities in some years. While it may seem insignificant, one of the ways in which this has been bothersome each day is the school's lack of the type of "middle man" support supplies for newer technology (like LCD projectors). One of the most bothersome examples is the lack of an LCD projector stand.

This may seem insignificant, but it causes issues with classroom management, which is key to student's overall achievement. Lacking an LCD projector, a students' desk - usually in the very front of the room - must be used as an ad hoc projector stand. This is only possible, of course, if there is an open desk in the classroom. If there is an open desk, it is in one of the prime spots - a front-row seat, essential to have for students who need that, ahem, extra attention. And using any type of sound with the projector? Bah! That would require yet another front-row desk upon which to set the speakers. Suffice it to say that not having an LCD projector stand, while seemingly insignificant, becomes one of those daily thorns-in-the-side which does, over the long-term, damage academic achievement and student enjoyment of learning.

For these reasons, I am seeking to make friends with the middle man - the LCD projector/multimedia stand. The ideal stand is space-efficient, movable, and provides enough space for an LCD projector and sometimes speakers and extra supplies, like papers to hand out to go along with the presentation. Luckily, these stands are relatively cost-effective. They are so valuable to the classroom every day that I would buy one if I could afford one, but unfortunately I am still paying off extravagant student loans!

At first glance, this may seem like a silly request. And if it was only a problem once a year, it would be. However, having to work around it every day adds up to a burden that does damage the benefits that technology, like LCD projectors, normally supplies to our public school classrooms. An LCD projector stand is something that, for its relatively small cost, provides long-term insurmountable benefits to all classrooms.

My project needs 1 multimedia stand that can support an LCD projector, my laptop, and additional supplies (such as pens, staplers, remote for projector, and small speakers).
