My students need an Epson interactive LCD projector to increase their learning opportunities through a visual and kenisthetic approach, benefiting all areas of our curriculum.
My students are living in a technology-based world. Something magical happens when technology is put in the hands of young learners. For many students, this is a whole new world of learning and exploration. My students are ready to learn interactive technology, but they need access to updated tools.
My students are an amazing group of learners.
They inspire me each day with their desire to learn about the world around them. Their eyes sparkle as I introduce each new concept. They are the reason I come to work each day and do my personal best.
However, it is getting harder every day to provided the resources that my little learners need in order to keep up with learning methods and technology advancements. The economic resources in Michigan have been very slim for education. Our community is doing its best, but funds are very limited and our technology is far behind what is possible for learning. In our classroom, we have four student computers which are approximately nine years old. They often lock up or fail to load high-resolution Internet learning games.
My Project
Although our building has a few interactive projectors, we do not have daily access to them. With an interactive projector in our classroom every day, we would be able to use the learning applications to support all curriculum areas. This will add an additional dimension to our learning opportunities. The projector would enable students to work together on technology-based educational activities more easily. The whole class can participate! There are hundreds of developmentally appropriate learning applications available for interactive projectors that make use of the included sensor pens. Applications cover math, literacy, science, and social studies. Technology also creates excitement. This is a new tool for most students and the the novelty of this resource will inspire them to try new things and work cooperatively in groups. In addition to the interactive tools, presentations, video clips, and other instructional tools can be shown by connecting to the teacher's computer.
We are preparing students for a world that we can't even imagine yet.
Giving them access to the technology of today and pushing them to try, explore, and succeed is my goal. An interactive projector can inspire them to do just that- have a desire to be a life-long learner and learn from the technology around us.
