My Students

When did you first realize that you were a reader? My students are just discovering what it means to be a reader - and now they are in the process of discovering their reading identity.

I am very lucky - my students are wonderful.

They attend a school where our motto is "Everybody is Somebody" and I am one of many teachers who get to help them on their way to becoming life-long-readers. They are not without challenges, but it's all in the way you look at it, we all face challenges.

My Project

By funding my project you will be putting books in the hands of children. In a way, it's as though you are my partner - together we are teaching children to love to read. You by way of generosity of spirit, and me by my calling to teach. These books will expose children to a variety of genres, while building literacy skills that enable a new sense of autonomy and freedom. Perhaps for the first time in their lives. Once a child can read anything is possible.

Children need to know that they live in a world where adults want to care for them.

How many stories do they read where good wins out in the end? When you donate to my cause you are showing how generosity and care is not just limited to books - but is alive and well in the world in which we live. Thank you for your consideration.
