My Students

Let's ditch the traditional classroom chairs and bring in exercise stability balls!

I teach 6th grade reading in West Virginia.

The population of my school is quite diverse in that we have one-third of all students coming from poor socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of my students have learning disabilities or attention deficit problems. I believe the stability balls will provide the students with more movement in the classroom which will help them concentrate better and be more engaged.

My Project

I am requesting 15 stability balls for my students to sit on in place of the traditional classroom chair. Not only is this proven to help students with ADHD, but it also helps students improve their posture. Students will be able to have more movement in their desk area by bouncing on the stability chairs, allowing some students that are more hyperactive to concentrate better during class.

I want to reach all kinesthetic learners every single day with the exercise stability balls.

My hope is that the students will be more comfortable during class by sitting on stability balls and leave them bouncing with enthusiasm for learning!
