My Students

Kindergarten kids need as many hands-on experiences as possible! Developmentally appropriate learning at this young age should always include plenty of hands-on manipulative materials that allow kids to explore their creativity!

Our school is located in a semi-rural, high-poverty district.

Many of our students come from low-income homes. They do not often experience opportunities to be creative at home, so I must provide these experiences for them in my classroom. My students are happy, energetic kids who deserve the best educational experience possible, despite the budget concerns our county has. Our county's budget has been slashed and teachers are not given any funds to purchase supplies and materials for the classroom. Who ultimately suffers because of this? Our children do!

My Project

My students need as many opportunities as possible to explore their creativity while sharpening essential fine-motor skills. Center time is a great time for them to work with many developmentally appropriate materials, such as blocks, legos, Lincoln Logs, etc. Many of our current materials are old hand-me-downs that are showing much wear and tear. We need new hands-on materials, such as various building materials and pegboards.

Your donation will help make 19 young children happy, as well as make it possible for them to express their creativity and learn in engaging ways!

My students will be able to stretch their imaginations and get hands-on with their learning!
