Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember when you developed a love for reading? My first grade students are at that stage right now, so you can be the link that helps them become independent readers.

I teach an amazing group of six and seven year old first grade students.

They attend a Title I school that is in a very low socioeconomic community. And, most of them have very limited reading materials in their home environments. This, however, does not hold them back from their excitement of reading and/or learning. They make my job so much easier with their eagerness to please and become leaders in reading.

My Project

The selected books will a be a huge link to achieving mastery in reading for my students. With the "Step into Reading" selected titles, the children will become successful in reaching the required state mandated reading requirements for promotion into the next grade level. I will also be able to incorporate specific topics such as bullying and getting along with each other, which in turn will result in outstanding citizenship.

By being a contributor to this project, you will help a very deserving group of children become independent readers.

And, you will help increase their self-esteem which is a big influence in confident young children. You will most importantly, be a part of the success of their future educational accomplishments. Thank you in advance for sharing in my vision that reading is a must.
