Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The majority of my students are from low income homes. They are good kids who do not come from great backgrounds. They need every advantage they can to succeed. We have raised the bar and asked more students to challenge themselves with AP classes. We need help preparing them for the rigors of AP.

The majority of my students come from low income homes.

There are many in our school that come from military families, from single family homes, and from homes where education takes a back seat to trying to put food on the table. Because of these things, and many others, my students do not get much one-on-one attention at home. Having the ability to give them a sense of what it will be like when they sit or the AP exam is paramount to success. If they are not given an opportunity to practice the true testing experience, they will not feel comfortable when they do sit for the AP exams.

My Project

Our students have the potential to go as far as any other student. What they haven't had is the exposure to the experiences. Without the exposure, these students are not sure how to react when put into the challenging and rigorous moments. Many of them are fully prepared, but they seem to freeze on test day. We need 4 folding tables that simulate the requirements of College Board during the actual test given.

Our students have the knowledge, and now they need exposure to a simulation of the AP testing experience.

Please help our students prepare for the AP test. Without these tables, we aren't able to simulate the actual testing situation.
