This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help me keep the fire burning by providing students their own copy of The Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games remind my students of the joy of learning at an interdisciplinary level.

My students have demonstrated eagerness to listen, to be engaged in making connections to real life examples in our discussions about The Hunger Games. Unfortunately, most of my students empathize with the impoverished community in District 12, because of their own experiences. For this reason, my students have become endeared with the characters in the book, and personalize them in their own lives.

My Project

By students having their own copy, they will be able to follow along as their peers or I read out loud. As a result, they will be able to accurately enhance their vocabulary further. In addition, the book will be available to them to read at their own pace, as opposed to taking turns reading the one copy we have as a class. In short, by students having their own copy of The Hunger Games it enhances our students' learning across all subjects. In order to provide that interdisciplinary experience, we need your help.

We need 32 copies of The Hunger Games so that the goal of providing maximum access to every student may be achieved.

Above all, you will make a difference in my students’ learning experience to enhance their joy of learning.
