My Students

Fractions can be such a fun part of learning math in elementary school. Do you remember when you learned about fractions in 3rd grade? Fractions are an essential math skill that are easier to learn with hands-on experience.

My students are third graders, at a public school in Oregon.

We are a very diverse learning community with over fifteen languages in our school. My students are eager learners, who come from very diverse homes. Most of our students are on free lunch and come from tough home situations.

My Project

These fraction manipulatives will allow for my students to learn how to use, identify, and compare fractions on a daily basis. These hands-on activities will keep the kids motivated and interested in math. They will help the non-English speaking students learn the same concepts as the rest of the class.

My project is so important because it will help meet the needs of all learning types.

Students will get a hands-on learning experience in math. Fraction manipulatives are few and far between. They are hard to find and your donation will help us obtain these useful resources.
