Digital Camera for Documenting Student Life in Our Class

My students need 1 digital camera, a case and a 64GB memory card to use as a learning tool and to document our learning experiences in the classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Learning is so important, but most of the time we forget it can be fun as well! Children need to learn about technology of all kinds. What a better way to learn about something than by using it?

My students are a wonderful group of third graders who come to school eager to learn every day.

My students are predominantly second-language learners and can learn best by active, hands-on exploration and discovery whenever possible. I want to encourage my students to take pictures the work they are doing and producing in the classroom and on field trips. They can record their learning and play it back to enhance their language abilities. Learning is not just about producing a project and then putting it away. It’s about revisiting it and discussing it and using that knowledge to build on for the next project. Many of my students don’t have access to technology except what they use in the classroom. I want to expose them to use of a digital camera and possibly inspire the next Ansel Adams or George Lucas!

My Project

My students need one digital camera to use in the classroom and on field trips. This will encourage students to show their best work and abilities. Through this they will know that it will be revisited and used as a learning tool in the future. Having the ability to document with still pictures as well as mini-movies will allow us to re-visit those projects we create and the school trips we go on to build on that knowledge and make our next project more inclusive of our knowledge base!

In this era of technology, it is vital to expose students at this young age to current technology.

Our project would have a positive impact on the learning of my students by providing them with the means necessary to take advantage of technology resources that may enhance our daily lessons. Thank you for your support by funding our classroom project.
