Let's Keep Busy

My students need a Kindle and case, and Bullying in Schools from Townsend Press. They also need activities/equipment to keep them busy during recess with something to do.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it felt like to be bullied at school because some kids had nothing better to do at recess than pick on you? A Kindle and sports equipment would help keep this from happening by keeping students busy.

I have a wonderful class of second graders this year.

My students come from a very low socioeconomic class and nearly all qualify for the free lunch program. Twenty-seven out of thirty students are English language learners. Many live in crowded homes shared by two and sometimes three families or in the local trailer home park. Their parents are hard workers and sometimes hold more than one job in order to make ends meet. This however, leads to many of the students being home alone or in the hands of sitters. Due to this, bullying has become rampant in our school and seriously needs to be addressed and stopped.

My Project

Your help in stopping bullying in its track is essential for students to feel safe at school. No student should come to school being scared or being intimidated by other students. I am requesting books centered around the theme of bullying, including, Bullying in Schools, by Townsend Press. I am also requesting a Kindle for students to access and keep busy during free time. Last, I am requesting play equipment to keep students busy during recess with a fun activity. Please help our project so that we have the necessary tools to combat bullying and stop it in its tracks in addition to building literacy skills and fun free time activities.

Part of the problem with bullying is that students have nothing else to do.

By helping our class you will be providing, a Kindle and books for reading as well as play equipment to keep them busy in meaningful ways. These materials will provide enrichment options to students who would otherwise be looking for trouble.
