My Students

My students are beginning to read. They love reading and need books that they are able to read independently to keep their love of reading alive.

Many of the students in our school are military children with parents that are being deployed or live in a single-parent household.

This is a very difficult time for them. We also have a large group of students who receive free or reduced-price meals from school.

My Project

My students will be able to have a selection of books in our classroom that they will be able to read. By having books at their reading level, my students will be excited to read. These new reading materials will help them to become better readers.

Reading is an important skill that my students will use throughout their lifetime.

In order to help make my students successful readers, my students need to have books available for them to read that is at their reading level.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
