Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I remember my first year at our school and we didn't have available frogs for frog dissection. My students used to draw and label the frog's anatomy and it took them one week to finish. They still had difficulty locating the organs. Using real frogs will facilitate my students learning effectively.

My students are generally English learners and learn effectively through hands on learning like frog dissection.

They enjoy doing labs and experiments. Our school is located in a low income community and is a title 1 school in California with 100 percent students qualified for free lunch.

My Project

Every year my students come back and tell me that frog dissection is the best learning experience they had in my class. My students look forward to this activity with excitement. Students will be able to locate, identify, and describe the organs of the frog successfully. They will be able to relate human anatomy through learning frog anatomy. We are asking for two Frog Dissection kits so my students can learn through the joy of dissection.

When I was a student, frog dissection was one the highlights of my classroom experience and motivated me to become a Science teacher.

My students ask me everyday when we are going to dissect the frog and this will only happen if we have frogs available. So donors, we need your generous support to make this project become a reality. Thank you very much.
