Our Frogs Need a Home

My students need a home for our frogs when the tadpoles grow out of the fish bowl, and a River Tank Plant Set that comes everything frogs need to survive.

My Students

Each spring we talk about different life cycles. We use pictures, crafts, movies, and text books but the children really don't understand the process. I have had tadpoles in the past and they grow into frogs. Seeing this process is wonderful.

I teach a special education class.

The children are considered mildly handicapped so they can walk, talk, converse, and explore general education topics. They need more help in understanding their education and more visual aides to retain that information. We are a Title I school, which means we are in a lower economic area.

My Project

The kids are amazed and excited watching the process of metamorphism. What we need is a home for the frogs. We have had tadpoles in past years and the frogs do not last long. I am requesting a habitat for the frogs. The kids name the frogs, we observe their growth, we take the frogs out and play with them. It is very disappointing when they die. I would love to have a few American bull frogs that live for years rather than weeks in our class. The tank set has a glass home, plants, rocks, pump and heat to allow the tadpoles and frogs to have a home in our class. We need a home for our frogs when the tadpoles grow out of the fish bowl. I would like a River Tank Plant Set that comes everything frogs need to survive.

I will not buy any more tadpoles for my class to learn about the frog life cycle without a home for the frogs.

We lost Harry and Jerry last year and the kids still talk about it. Please help us out with a home for Harry and Jerry Jr. this year.
