Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Not all students learn the same way. Many of my students learn better with using a hands on approach.

My students are four and five year old pre-kindergarten students in a Title One school.

Our school has a large number of Hispanic students. Many of my students are still struggling with writing their names. At this point in the school year they should be writing their name with no problem and moving onto trying to write words they see in the classroom.

My Project

Since not all students learn the same, I am needing to find other ways to reach my students, therefor the materials I listed will help reach my students with using a more hands on approach to writing. These materials include letter stencils, tracing letters, sentence strips, and Wikki sticks. Each one of these items will help a different students' learning style. Some students will need to see the lines to make the letters, others will need something to guide them into making each letter. They can do these things independently with guidance from me. This independence will help them feel successful about themselves and keep practicing on their writing skills leading them to writing without the need for aids.

With your generous donation, it will help purchase needed materials such as boards, tracing letters, and sentence strips.

These hands on materials will help my students in their writing success.
