"That's not a snail! It doesn't have a shell!" "Look closer.." "Ohhh it's so hard to see." "Well we only have one magnifying glass so pass it around." " "It does!" "Let me see!" "Let me see!" The excitement of discovery and fostering a love for science begins in kindergarten!

My students come from all different cultures and economic backgrounds.

Our school is a title one school and economically challenged. We are also an International baccalaureate school. Our goal is to prepare students to become critical thinkers, who are compassionate and lifelong learners who are responsible global citizens helping to create a more peaceful world.

My Project

Magnifying glasses will enable us to discover how interconnected we are in our world with animals, animals to each other, and our responsibility as humans to maintain the balance in nature. They will also discover, through science that they (Although 5 years old) can make a difference by the choices they make to care for life.

Many children do not understand the difference a little creature makes in our daily lives.

It is my goal for them to see that even little things make a difference and are important in our world.
