The wonderful thing about teaching first graders is that they are all artists! Put a crayon or marker in the hands of a 6 year old, and the sky is the limit--they know no boundaries when it comes to their artistic abilities.
My desire is to provide a wide variety of artistic media for my young artists and craftsmen. I want them to be able to create, explore, and imagine, while exploring their artistic skills and abilities.
Our classroom is made up of a diverse group of Gifted & Talented, ESL, and Special Education students. When it comes to art, these differences begin to blur. Through artistic endeavors, all students can be the developers of true masterpieces.
With our campus being a Title 1 school, I am not willing to place a huge burden on my parents to purchase extra supplies for art and craft activities. I want to be able to provide a wide range of creative opportunities for my young Picassos, but find myself having to cut back due to lack of artistic mediums and resources.
If you have ever seen the look of pure joy that comes across a young child's face as they spread a kaleidoscope of color across a blank space, then you know how important this request is to a young generation of artists. Thank you in advance for your generosity and caring by donating these various artistic resources to our classroom.
The wonderful items that would help my young Monets include: Multicultural Face Paper Pad, markers and paints--what a treat for students to be able to create true self-portraits! Also, adjustable Paint Aprons, Sponge Painting Kit, Rubbing Plates, and water color brushes would be great in the hands of my little artists. Add to this a wide variety of crayons, map colors, and markers, for a rainbow of color! Little extras such as brightly colored feathers and glittered tempera paints will encourage even the most reluctant artist.
Again, thank you for helping my students to be creative individuals! The cost of many art supplies, including those listed in the essay, is $462, including shipping and fulfillment. HIDELive Updates
