My Students

Students should enter college (and life!) with the broadest possible exposure to great literature. Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 is on the "must read" list! The students have asked for a chance to read this in class, and I'd love to be able to to say, "Our books are here!"

Many of these students will be the first family member to attend college.

They are college bound, I just really want to give them the best start possible. They are 12th grade students, in a Title I school district, from a hard-working town in Michigan. In this town, the high school is most significant institution--much depends on the school as far as building the basis for a good life. Thank you for considering us as recipients of your generosity!

My Project

Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 is a fantastically powerful book. One of our most important freedoms is speech, literature, and thought. That is what Ray Bradbury is illustrating in this classic bestseller. We must understand and preserve the value of literature and thought if we are to maintain any of our other freedoms. Beside all that, it is just a really good idea for our students to have read this book before college. This novel is a significant and important part of our culture.
